The Fukagawa area still retains Edo era culture. There are famous shrines and temples, and also many shops and restaurants. Tomioka Hachiman Shrine is famous as the birthplace of sumo. Goma fire ritual of Fukagawa Fudo-do is very powerful.

Please try Fukagawa Meshi, which is the old, local cuisine of downtown Tokyo.
