For this trip, I traveled around the San’in San’yō area, which is in the western part of Japan.

今回こんかいの旅たびは、日本にっぽんの西にしの地域ちいき、山陽さんよう地方ちほうと山陰さんいん地方ちほうを訪おとずれることにした。

I went to Itsukushima Shrine, which is an island in the western part of the Seto Inland Sea of Japan, located in the northwest of Hiroshima Bay. It is the second time that I went to the Shinto shrine, which has a large, beautiful “floating” Torii gate on the surface of the water.

まずは、瀬戸内海せとないかいの西部せいぶ、広島ひろしま湾わんの小ちいさな島しまにある厳島いつくしま神社じんじゃから。この神社じんじゃに行いくのは２度目どめだけど、水面すいめんに浮うかぶ鳥居とりいが本当ほんとうに美うつくしいんだ。

Personally, I enjoyed Hiroshima the most out of the different places that I visited in the Kinki area when I was studying abroad many years ago in Japan. To be honest, I like Hiroshima more than Kyoto, although I don’t really have a reason as to why.

日本にっぽんに留学りゅうがくしていた20代だいの頃、近畿きんき地方ちほうの様々さまざまな場所ばしょを訪おとずれたけど、個人こじん的てきには広島ひろしまが一番いちばん楽たのしかった。正直しょうじき、僕ぼくは京都きょうとよりも広島ひろしまの方ほうが好すきなんだ。

To get to the island, you take a ferry from the mainland which takes about 10 minutes. If the weather is good, the wonderful scenery is a pleasure to view. Although the weather was not ideal when I went, it was still very pretty.

島しまへは、宮島口みやじまぐちからフェリーに乗のって約やく10分ふんで着つく。天気てんきが良よければ、素晴すばらしい景色けしきを楽たのしむことができるよ。僕ぼくが行いった時ときは天気てんきがあまり良よくなかったけれど、それでもとても綺麗きれいだった。

The shrine is built on the water, and was as beautiful then as it is now, thanks to the 3 and a half year renovation which was completed in December of last year. Of course it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are some deer wondering around that are not afraid of humans, although they are also in Nara as well.

神殿しんでんは水みずの上うえに建たっているんだ。昨年さくねん12月に完了かんりょうした3年半ねんはんに及およぶ改修工事かいしゅうこうじのおかげで、今いまも変かわらず美うつくしかった。もちろん世界せかい遺産いさんに登録とうろくされているよ。奈良ならと同おなじように、人懐ひとなつっこくて可愛かわいい鹿しかがいるんだ。

Hiroshima has really delicious seafood, but the most famous dish would probably be Hiroshimisha Yaki, which is a specific Hiroshima-style of Okonomiyaki. Hiroshima is famous for having great oysters, so I decided to have oysters with my Hiroshima Yaki.

広島ひろしまには本当ほんとうに美味おいしいシーフード料理りょうりがたくさんあるけど、最もっとも有名ゆうめいな料理りょうりは広島ひろしま焼やきじゃないかな。広島は牡蠣かきが有名ゆうめいなので、牡蠣かき入いりの広島ひろしま焼やきを食たべることにした。とても美味おいしかったよ。

Tomorrow I plan on going to Izumo Taisha in Shimane Prefecture.

明日あしたは、島根しまね県けんの出雲神いずものかみ社しゃに行いく予定よてい。
