Two-week short-term study abroad program in the summer（２週間の短期留学プログラム　夏）

From August 14th, French university students joined our short-term study abroad program for two weeks. It was all over in the blink of an eye. We’re glad that everyone seemed to enjoy the program.

8月14日から、フランスの大学生だいがくせいたちが２週間しゅうかんの私たちの短期たんき　留学りゅうがくプログラムに参加さんかしてくれました。あっという間までしたね。みんなプログラムを満喫まんきつしてくれたようでうれしいです。

In the morning, they had Japanese lessons, and in the afternoon, they went out into the streets of Tokyo with their Japanese teachers and spoke the Japanese they had learned.

午前中は日本語のレッスン、午後からは日本語にほんご教師きょうしと一緒いっしょに東京とうきょうの街まちを歩あるいて、学まなんだ日本語をどんどん話はなしました。

They took the subway to various locations. They also went to see the night view of the Sumida River.　

地下鉄ちかてつに乗のって色々いろいろな所ところへいきました。隅田川すみだがわの夜景やけいも見に行きました。

They also went to Kamakura and Enoshima by JR.

JRに乗のって鎌倉かまくらや江の島にも行きました。

They went back in time to the Edo period at the Fukagawa Edo Museum.

深川ふかがわ　江戸えど資料しりょう館かんでは、江戸の町まちにタイムスリップ。

At the Fukagawa Summer Festival, they enjoyed the traditions of the Japanese summer. They wore yukata and went to the Azabu Juban Festival, where they also joined in the Bon dance. Everyone was really good at the Bon dance.

深川ふかがわでは、日本の夏なつ祭まつりを楽たのしみました。麻布あざぶ十じゅう番ばん祭まつりでは、浴衣ゆかたを着て盆踊ぼんおどりにも参加さんかしました。みんな盆踊ぼんおどり上手じょうずでしたね。

Since everyone came all the way from France to Japan, we wanted them to experience authentic, traditional Japanese culture, so all of our instructors are professional masters.

フランスから遠とおい日本へ来てくれたので、本格ほんかく的てきな日本の伝統でんとう文化ぶんかを経験けいけんしてほしくて、講師こうしは全員ぜんいん経験けいけん豊ゆたかな専門家せんもんかです。

Everyone had experience with Japanese calligraphy at university in France, but this time, as the instructor was a professional calligrapher, everyone said they were able to write much better than before. Everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves.

皆みなさんフランスの大学だいがくでも書道しょどうは経験していますが、今回はプロの書道しょどう家かが講師なので、いつもよりずっと上手じょうずに書けたとのことです。何なによりみなさん楽しそう。

Let’s enjoy the tea ceremony in a traditional tea room in a Japanese garden.

日本庭園ていえんの中の伝統でんとう的てきな茶室ちゃしつで茶道さどうを楽しみましょう。

Let’s try authentic Japanese Ikebana using a Kenzan with an experienced professional Ikebana artist.

剣山けんざんを使った本格ほんかく的てきな日本の華道かどうに挑戦。経験けいけん豊ゆたかな華道家と一緒に。

The professional kimono dressers dressed everyone in kimonos that they liked. As it got a little cooler as the sun went down, everyone went to visit Senso-ji Temple in their kimonos. They all looked great.

プロの着付きつけしが、それぞれが気に入った着物きものをみんなに着せてくれました。日暮ひぐれて少し涼すずしくなったので、みんな着物姿で浅草寺せんそうじへお参まいりに。みんなとても似合にあっていました。

They also tried making Japanese home cooking, Edo faceted glass, and Kokeshi dolls.

日本の家庭かてい料理や江戸えど切子きりこ、こけしづくりにも挑戦ちょうせんしました。

We also tried a variety of Japanese dishes. Everyone really liked Japanese fried chicken. We also tried kaiten sushi, yakiniku, monjayaki and, of course, sweets.

色々な日本の料理も。みんな日本の唐揚げがとても気にいったみたい。回転ずしや焼き肉、もんじゃ焼き、もちろんスイーツも。
